PAOLO GATTI

 

Paolo Gatti is a composer and performer in the field of electronic music. He studied guitar and piano. He is graduated (B.SC) in environmental engineering, sound engineering (Post Graduate Master) at the “Tor Vergata” University of Rome and computer music (B.A and M.A.) at the “Santa Cecilia” Conservatory of Rome. Level of English B2 ( certification IELTS) .Some of his compositions have been performed in Italy: at the “Argentina” theatre, at the “Emufest” , at the “MAXXI” museum, at the “Cariplo Factory” in Milan, at the “Palazzetto dei Nobili” in L’Aquila at the “Museo della Mente” in Rome and worldwide: at the IFIMPAC 2016 in Leeds (UK), at the NYCEMF 2016 in New York at the ISSTA 2017 conference in Dundalk (Ireland), in Valletta at SCIENCE IN THE CITY 2017, in Mexico City at MUSLAB 2017, at the“Cica Museum”in Gimpo (South Korea). In 2015 his work for violin and electronics called “Poltergeist” was one of the awarded compositions at the end of the “Claudio Abbado” national prize. In 2017 his composition Senhalte earned a special mention at the “Forum Wallis, Swiss contemporary music festival”. He recorded for “VideoRadio”music label, StudioloLaps Music Label, Neuma Records, Folderol Records. Paolo Gatti has also composed music for theatre shows, dance performances, short movies. In 2020 he founded the music label “Senhalte Productions” (www.senhalte.com). Recently he created two discographic projects, called K-AT and The Broken Bench, releasing on all the digital platforms their debut albums during 2020 and 2021. At the moment, he is working on the production of a new album of electronic compositions. After winning a scholarship in 2016, he has been based in Malta for 6 months during 2017, doing an internship at PBS Radio whereby he has been involved as music composer.

CARLOS DELGADO

Carlos Delgado’s music has been heard in concerts, festivals, and radio broadcasts in Australia, England, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Romania, Spain, and the United States. A composer who specializes in electroacoustic chamber music and multimedia, his works have been presented at venues such as Merkin Recital Hall in New York; the 11th Biennial Symposium on Arts and Technology: New Creativity at the Ammerman Center Auditorium, Connecticut; St. Giles Cripplegate / Barbican, in London, England; and the Rencontre Internationale de Science & Cinema (RISC) in Marseille, France. He has participated in a number of festivals, including ManiFeste Académie (IRCAM, Paris), and the New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival, and has been a speaker at IRCAM’s Forum Les Ateliers Hors Les Murs 2019 (Shanghai, China), and IRCAM Forum Workshops Hors Les Murs Montreal 2021. A winner of the Society of Composers CD Series Award, several of his works have been recorded by world-class artists such as Emil Sein, Corrado Canonici, Roger Heaton, and Beate-Gabriela Schmitt, and are available on the CRI (New World Records), Living Artist, Capstone Records, and Sonoton ProViva labels. He has appeared as a laptop performer at Symphony Space and the Abrons Art Center (New York); the Titu Maiorescu Romanian Cultural Institute in Berlin; the Musica Senza Frontiere Festival, in Perugia; and many others. He holds a B.Mus. in jazz piano performance from Berklee College of Music, and MA and Ph.D. degrees in music composition from New York University, where he studied with Dinu Ghezzo, and Ron Mazurek.

STEFANO PETRARCA

 

Has studied piano and composition with Maestro Biondi-Paris, trumpet with M. Bartoletti, and guitar as an autodidact. In 1983 SP achieved a diploma in Electronic Music, trained by G. Nottoli at “L. Refice” Conservatory in Frosinone. SP, who is concerned with research in computer use in music as well, has collaborated with G. Nottoli (1978-1984) on the project “Musica” at Istituto di Acustica Corbino (National Research Council, Rome). In 1981 SP graduated in Mathematics at University of Rome “La Sapienza”, giving a dissertation on “Mathematical Models for Use of Computers in Musics”. Together with several musicians, SP founded in 1980 (STREAM)(“Studio per la Ricerca Elettroacustica Musicale” – Studio for Electro-acoustic Research in Music): at present, SP is in charge of STREAM. SP has composed music for soloists, small groups and orchestras, tape and real-time synthesizers; his compositions have been performed in public in several occasions and often broadcasted. Since 1990 SP is member of the association “Musica Verticale”.

LUCA MARGONI

 

Nato nel 1959 da una famiglia di intellettuali e artisti, ha avuto un approccio graduale con lo strumento, in età adolescenziale. Suoi maestri sono stati dapprima gli amici, i dischi, i concerti e poi, negli anni a venire, Pier Luigi Corona, Stefano Cardi e José Tomás. Appassionato di improvvisazione in tutti i suoi aspetti, durante gli anni ’80 ha studiato chitarra jazz con Umberto Fiorentino e Armonia e Arrangiamento Jazz con Bruno Tommaso. Si è dedicato, molto più tardi, a uno studio sistematico della Musica Elettronica, sia negli aspetti tecnico-informatici, sotto la guida di Stefano Petrarca, che in quelli compositivi, con Giorgio Nottoli. Tutto ciò lo ha portato a definire un percorso nel quale sono convogliati il repertorio chitarristico, prevalentemente novecentesco, la Musica Elettronica e l’improvvisazione. Nel mese di ottobre uscirà un suo CD per la Da Vinci Classics con musiche per Chitarra classica, elettrica e MIDI di Tortora, Scardino, Rotili, Renna, Petrarca, Clementi, Gilardino, Margoni.
